From Me to You, whoever you are!
What I share below, I share because I want each reader to know he or she has an incredible power within to bless themselves in a way no one else can. I realize there are many aspects to self-love, but I was remiss in doing so for many years, as I believe others of us have been. Simply investing a moment to audibly or legibly affirm how we can see ourselves in a positive light pays dividends for all of us.
“If I am not for myself, then who will be for me? But when I am for myself, then what am “I”? And if not now, When?”— Hillel the Elder
I have long used the phrase “I don’t care” nonchalantly when troubled or when I felt backed into a corner. Saying that phrase unconsciously over and over for a lifetime has worn on my perspective, until today, for I realized I do care. I must care. And what I say about myself matters.
My words and thoughts are an expression of my soul and all that will be of me in a not too distant time. Expressing my true heart requires a diligence that only a caring individual can provide. Affirming that care takes practice.
What I think and speak manifests. The legacy I leave with an intention or without, will materialize through thought, word, and deed. Therefore, I affirm that I am thoughtful and my words are said impeccably.
This wasn’t always so. Now, I choose to reshape my earlier programming. I desire that the remaining residue of my essence adorns, beautifies, and blesses those whose lives it touches. That is all I have left to give.
May the shadows where I hid and lived be brought into the light of day and transformed into a gift for those in pain, in need of healing, or for those who may just need a moment of peace or pause. It is my wish that whatever light comes from my life, rests warmly on the shoulders and refreshes and revitalizes whoever is open to its rays.
So today, I choose to be aware of the consequences of my thoughts, my words and my actions as best I can, with the tools I now possess. For each new day, I am present on this planet, I affirm possibilities of beneficial contributions offered by those who have chosen to freely give their time, talents, and resources, including me.
I praise and encourage in public, while quietly contemplating what I may be unconsciously communicating to others when I do not.
My life is affirmed when I affirm myself and others. If I am here to love, let the affirmation begin with me.
