Be…Do…Have
I awoke this morning with all kinds of thoughts on my mind. This isn’t unusual as I try to make my mornings a time for setting the pace of thinking for my day. Primarily by asking myself, (What Am I Thinking or W.A.I.T) I am attempting to re-engineer all of the goop that comes to me during my pre-waking moments. (I don’t actually know how much time is involved here. It could be minutes, milliseconds or otherwise, but I am assuming it is in my REM state)
This mornings exercise had to do with the phrase “Be-Do-Have.” Your guess is as good as mine as to how or where that originated, but I know it was an important answer for me. I have been grappling with questions concerning projects for next year and I am grateful for the help the universe sent to me today.
The simplicity of this phrase reached out and grabbed me and made me feel full and whole and complete. What a wonderful way to wake up! Please allow me to share:
1.“Be” yourself — There is no other person on the planet you can be who is more effective at offering the gifts you brought into this world than you!!! If you intend to be someone great…be a great you! It doesn’t require a lot of Work…you are already you and you have everything you need to be stupendous! Develop the gifts, skills, and talents you already possess. They will fulfill you more than copying anyone else's.
2. “Do” Your Best — I like the way Don Miguel Ruiz put this in his classic work “The Four Agreements.” When your inner judge is critical, and you can honestly answer it with “I did my best,” you will have no regrets. I don’t know about you, but living life without regrets would be total freedom for me. I can’t change my past, but I can change my future by doing my best now.
3. “Have” The Time of Your Life — This is a small shift in the “Be, Do, Have model many people employ. Instead of having physical possessions as the goal, (there is nothing wrong with this goal) I prefer to use this reference as an indicator of the most precious asset I have…TIME. And for me, the best time is NOW!
There is so much more here than I can explain in this brief essay but I was so exuberant about how this made me feel I wanted to share it with you.
I hope that you will BE the You, you want to be, DO the best you can do today, AND, HAVE an incredible now!
You are the Architect that’s Building a Life That Matters!
Peace be with you!!!
