And what we lose when we do

Survey what is forgotten on a daily basis and find the enormity of what is lost. - B. Stuart Noll

During a meditation today I realized what I forget every moment I’m alive. It brought me to tears because I was so thoughtless about some of the most precious gifts of life.

My breathing is done without thinking
My blood flows without knowing
My heart beats without prompting
My thoughts arrive without effort

This set of moments caused me to ask myself; How many other elements of my life do I haphazardly, even unintentionally disregard? How many people have I passed by without notice? How many actions have I taken with no regard for its impression or impact on others? What will I unconsciously do in the next moment when I forget we exist — together?

I am blessed when I remember you
I am alive in the moment I remember who I am
I am enough when I’m aware of each gift I’ve been given
I am my higher self when I’m aware of our connection

Each instant, each gulp, each syllable, each brainwave, each pulse of my heart, each exchange with all the other eaches of life — is valuable. And, they are so much more so when I appreciate them at the moment they occur. It is this awareness that brings me unfathomable joy and is painfully tragic when, in the absence of my mind, I forget how beautiful they truly are.

It is my mission in life to co-create an awareness of peace, joy, and fulfillment by offering life-giving alternatives. I am happy to connect with you for a peaceful and respectful dialogue.
